Daily Dose Calculator
Calculate Patient Daily Dose, Frequency & Liquid Volume (mL)
How to Use the Daily Dose Calculator
Accurate dosage calculation based on body weight is the standard of care in pediatric medicine and clinical pharmacy. This tool helps determine the total amount of drug required per day and breaks it down into individual doses based on frequency.
Step 1: Enter Patient Weight
Input the patient's weight. You can use Kilograms (kg) or Pounds (lb); the calculator automatically converts pounds to kilograms ($1 \text{ kg} = 2.2046 \text{ lbs}$).
Step 2: Input Dosage & Frequency
Enter the prescribed dosage in mg/kg. Then, select how many times per day the medication is given (e.g., BID = Twice daily).
Step 3: Liquid Dose (Optional)
If using a syrup or suspension, enter the concentration (e.g., 100 mg/5mL = 20 mg/mL). The calculator will tell you exactly how many mL to administer per dose.
Calculation Formula
Single Dose = Total Dose / Frequency
